I have been working in Birmingham as a Certified Transformational Breath® Facilitator since 2005. In 2007 I completed the Trainer programme in The Netherlands, certificated by the International Transformational Breath Foundation. With a professional background in Childcare Social Work and Child and Adolescent Mental Health, I was first attracted to breathwork in the 1990s, when it formed a key part of my recovery from cancer.
I have experience of working with people with a wide range of needs and aim to tailor sessions to suit you. I sometimes use various tools in addition to Transformational Breath®; in particular, Michael Brown’s The Presence Process, a parallel programme that aims to integrate early experiences which continue to affect us in our daily relationships. I have also devised a 6-session BodyProud programme for people wishing to use Transformational Breath® to manage their weight. For children aged three to ten, I have designed and developed Jelly Breathing, a creative visualization to increase confidence and wellbeing, and as a way of introducing them Transformational Breath®. I also work with babies who may benefit from integrating their birth experience through their breathing.

After working for many years in theatre as an actor, director and teacher, I trained in Voice Studies at Central School of Speech and Drama and worked there for two years as a Tutor in Voice, Speech and Text before coming to Birmingham and joining Homer Creative, a creative communications agency. I am a member of the Voice Care Network. I have been privileged to train as a Certified Transformational Breath® Facilitator with Ange Leake in the UK and with Judith Kravitz in Italy. I have also been privileged to be a member of the Community of Fools, directed by Angela Halvorsen-Bogo, an experiment in extended community and living in the present moment which draws on the wisdom of clown training.
My goal is to bring these disciplines together in a way that enables me to facilitate individuals and groups in their self-initiated quest for true expression, health, joy and powerful change in their lives. I offer one to one sessions in voice, speech and presentation and in Transformational Breath®, tailored to individual need, as well as running and collaborating on workshops for Transformational Breath® with Birmingham Breathes, and Singing Heart (creative voice) workshops.
